Multi-admin, not mirroring
A compatible AirSensei device can join the AirSensei and Home Assistant Matter fabrics at the same time. Each controller gets its own secure relationship with the device.
Open-source integration
AirSensei for Home Assistant is a planned open-source integration for direct Matter control and deeper Smart Vent H1 configuration—built for people who want to shape how every room responds.
The architecture and experience are in active development. Code, compatibility details, and setup instructions will be published when they are ready for testing.
Matter + Thread, clearly
Matter decides who may control a device. Thread carries the local network traffic. Keeping those roles separate means your device does not have to be locked to a single app.
A compatible AirSensei device can join the AirSensei and Home Assistant Matter fabrics at the same time. Each controller gets its own secure relationship with the device.
Air Hub forwards encrypted IPv6 traffic between the Thread mesh and your home network. It does not translate or take ownership of the Matter device.
Home Assistant handles standard Matter capabilities. The planned open-source integration adds AirSensei-specific configuration for richer Smart Vent H1 behavior and automations.
With Air Hub providing the Thread border-router path on the same compatible local network, the Home Assistant host does not need its own Thread radio. Home Assistant still uses its own Matter controller, and exposed capabilities can vary by platform.
Advanced Smart Vent H1 configuration
The planned integration is intended to bring AirSensei-specific Smart Vent H1 settings into the same place as your Home Assistant automations, while keeping standard Matter control local.
Setup order
Matter multi-admin is designed so a compatible device can be added to more than one controller. The first platform simply needs to authorize the next one.
Commission the device in AirSensei Home, then open its Matter sharing flow and add Home Assistant as another authorized controller.
Use the current platform's Share device or Add controller flow to create a new Matter sharing code, then add AirSensei or Home Assistant.
Sharing adds another Matter fabric; it does not move the device to a different Thread mesh. A factory reset is normally unnecessary while an existing administrator can open the device's sharing window.
Built to be inspectable
The first testable release will include a public repository, supported Home Assistant versions, and installation instructions. The integration is still in development.
